For many years we have welcomed our guests to this stretch of coast between Casal Velino and Pioppi. Here the sea is right in front of us, the cooking is home-style, and the atmosphere has stayed simple and familiar, just the way we like it.

The flavours of home, facing the sea
We bring the flavours of Cilento tradition to the table, to enjoy on our panoramic terrace with the sea in front of you. We prepare dishes with fresh ingredients, paying special attention to fish and the authentic flavours of our region.
Open to outside guests too. The restaurant also welcomes those not staying at the property, always by reservation. During August, given the higher turnout, it's best to check availability in advance. A fixed menu is offered to outside guests.
Marina di Casal Velino, in Cilento
Pensione Zio Attilio is located in Marina di Casal Velino, one of the most beloved coastal towns in Cilento, right on the waterfront: the sea is just a few steps from the property, while the town centre, with its shops and village life, is about a kilometre away.
We are along the stretch of coast leading to Pioppi, the hamlet where American scientist Ancel Keys spent over forty years studying the local population's diet, giving rise to what we now know as the Mediterranean Diet. A simple, genuine land, still found today in its flavours and the slow pace of its days.
We are also in the heart of the Cilento, Vallo di Diano and Alburni National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1998: a protected area alternating beaches and rocky coves, ancient archaeological sites and villages that have kept their identity intact.

The things we're asked most often
What time are check-in and check-out?
For rooms, check-in is available from 1:00 PM, while for apartments it's from 3:00 PM. Check-out for both rooms and apartments is by 10:00 AM. Late check-out is available on request, subject to availability, with a possible extra charge.
Is the beach included in the stay?
Yes. The rooms and the Scirocco apartment share the same beach as the guesthouse, where each room/apartment comes with a beach umbrella and two sun loungers. Umbrellas are not assigned, and their use is managed by the guests themselves. La Casetta, on the other hand, faces a free public beach, separate from the guesthouse's.
Is parking available?
Yes. Rooms have a numbered parking space at the guesthouse, matching the room number; the Scirocco apartment has its own dedicated parking space at the guesthouse. La Casetta has its own private parking, separate from the guesthouse's.
Is it possible to have lunch or dinner on site?
Yes. For guests staying in a room on Half Board or Full Board, dining is included. Guests staying in the apartment or La Casetta can book it for a small extra charge. The service is also open, by reservation, to guests not staying at the property, who are offered a fixed menu; we recommend booking ahead in August, when things get busy.
Are pets allowed?
Yes, but only on request. When booking, you'll need to let us know your pet's size and breed — acceptance depends on availability at the time and on the animal's size, to make sure every guest has a pleasant stay.

What is the cancellation policy?
For stays longer than one week: if you cancel at least 30 days before check-in, your deposit is fully refunded; between 30 and 15 days before check-in, 20% is refunded; within 15 days of check-in, no refund is given. For stays shorter than one week, the deposit is non-refundable in all cases, and the full amount of the stay is required as a deposit.
